Intercollegiate Retreat: Discussing Hinduism and College Life (Sat Oct 14)

You're invited to Dharma's Intercollegiate Retreat: Discussing Hinduism and College Life!

Date: Saturday, October 14th

Time: 11 AM - 3 PM (feel free to stop by anytime during this time period!)

Location: Lowell JCR

De-stress from midterms and meet Hindu students from other colleges, including MIT, Wellesley and Tufts, for free lunch and great discussion to find solutions to the conflicts that arise when our roles as Hindus and college students seemingly conflict.

This year's discussion will focus on four main questions:

(1) What are the main conflicts we encounter as Hindus in college?

(2) Does Hinduism affect our viewpoints on issues like drinking and dating?

(3) How can we resolve our sometimes conflicting duties to our families, friends, schoolwork, spiritual development and selves?

(4) How do the values of hinduism either clash or coincide with the values of a liberal campus?

We have started exploring these questions (and more!) on Swadharma, an online blog dedicated to understanding and coming to conclusions about the conflicts we encounter as college-aged Hindus in America. Check it out if you get a chance!

We will conclude the retreat with a few bhajans -- so if you are interested in leading a bhajan, or helping to lead discussion, please email harvarddharma@gmail.

Lunch, snacks, and refreshments will be served. Please RSVP to us by Wednesday (11/12) by noon if you will be joining us for lunch. Feel free to stop by anytime during the retreat!
